Watch: The 2nd annual John L. Anderson Distinguished Lecture
Nov 16, 2021
The John L. Anderson Distinguished Lecture Series in Chemical Engineering brings celebrated and influential chemical engineering researchers to Carnegie Mellon's campus.
In its second year, the annual event featured alum and Chief Operations Officer of CSL Behring, Paul McKenzie ('92), who presented "How BioTech Engineering has Contributed, Learned and Evolved from the Pandemic." Elected to the National Academy of Engineering in 2020, McKenzie has over 25 years of experience in manufacturing and R&D and has held various senior roles for companies like Johnson & Johnson, Bristol Myers Squibb and Merck. In 2019, he was appointed Chief Operations Officer of CSL Behring and currently leads CSL's global end-to-end operations organization.
The lecture series is named to honor the accomplishments of former Carnegie Mellon University Professor of Chemical Engineering and Dean of the College of Engineering, John L. Anderson, who has made a significant impact on the field through his research and his many roles in academic leadership around the country. Dr. Anderson currently serves as President of the National Academy of Engineering.
